The 2022–23 season was the 60th season in the existence of Sportclub Telstar and their 45th consecutive season in the second tier of Dutch football. SC Telstar
Sportclub Telstar () is a Dutch professional football club based in the town of Velsen-Zuid, North Holland. The team competes in the Eredivisie, the top tier of the Dutch football league system, following promotion from the Eerste Divisie in the 2024–25 season. The club was founded on 17 July 1963, as a merger between the professional departments of rivals VSV and Stormvogels. The new club was named ''Telstar'', after the then recently launched communications satellite. Telstar plays its home games at the Sportpark Schoonenberg, renamed ''711 Stadion'', for sponsorship reasons. Since its founding in 1963, the football club has used The Tornados' song "Telstar" as the entrance tune for home games. Anwar Bensabouh (; ; born 21 January 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Quick Boys. Born in the Netherlands, he is of Moroccan descent. Career Almere City Bensabouh played youth football for AFC and Almere City. He made his debut for their reserve team, Jong Almere City, on 31 March 2018, starting in a 1–0 loss in the Derde Divisie against Jong FC Volendam. Jonathan Mulder (; born 2 January 2002) is a professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Czech First League club Slovácko. Born in the Netherlands, he has represented Israel at youth level. Thomas Oude Kotte (born 20 March 1996) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for K League 1 club FC Anyang. Club career Vitesse In 2008, Oude Kotte joined Vitesse from local side Groen Wit '62. Thomas Overtoom (; born 20 November 1990) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Rijnsburgse Boys. Career Ajax Overtoom grew up in the neighbourhood of Watergraafsmeer, Amsterdam, and started his football career in 1998 for SV de Meer, before moving to SV Diemen the following year.
