2022–23 Oklahoma State Cowboys Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball team represented Oklahoma State University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by sixth-year head coach Mike Boynton, and played its home games at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma as a member of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 17–14, 8–10 in Big 12 play to finish in seventh place. They defeated Oklahoma in the first round of the Big 12 tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Texas. They were invited to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Youngstown State and Eastern Washington before losing in overtime in the quarterfinals to North Texas. Previous season The Cowboys finished the 2021–22 season 15–15, 8–10 in Big 12 play to finish in a tie for fifth place. Mike Boynton
Michael Boynton Jr. (born January 17, 1982) is an American basketball coach, currently an assistant coach at the Michigan Wolverines basketball, University of Michigan. Previously he was the head coach at Oklahoma State University–Stillwater, Oklahoma State University from 2017 to 2024. Playing career A native of Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York, Boynton led his high school basketball team at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School to the city semifinals and earned first team All-New York City honors by averaging 15.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 11.0 assists per game. While a player for the University of South Carolina Gamecocks from 2000 to 2004, Boynton made 129 three-pointers in 125 career games, finishing in the top ten in three-pointers made and fourth in career games played with the Gamecocks. Isaac Likekele (born February 25, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Kouvot of Korisliiga. Listed at and , he plays the point guard position.
