2022–23 Moldovan Super Liga
The 2022–23 Moldovan Super Liga was the 32nd season of top-tier football in Moldova. The season started on 30 July 2022 and ended on 20 May 2023. The winners of the league this season earned a spot in the first qualifying round of the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League, the second placed club earned a place in the second qualifying round and the third and fourth placed clubs earned a place in the first qualifying round of the 2023–24 UEFA Europa Conference League. Teams A total of 8 teams competed in the league. The top 7 teams from the 2021–22 season and one promoted team from the Divizia A: Dacia Buiucani, returning to the top tier after one year absence. Moldovan Super Liga
The Moldovan Liga, officially known as Liga 7777.md for sponsorship reasons, is an association football league that is the top division of Moldovan football league system. The competition was established in 1992, when Moldova became independent from the Soviet Union. It was formed in place of former Soviet republican competitions that existed since 1945. Before the Soviet occupation of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina in 1940, clubs from modern Moldova competed in the Romanian football competitions, particularly Nistru Chișinău. There are currently eight teams in the competition. At the end of the season, the bottom club is relegated to Liga 1 and replaced by the lower league's champion. Sheriff Tiraspol – located in Transnistria – is the most successful league club with 21 titles, followed by Zimbru Chișinău with eight wins and Milsami Orhei with two wins. Fotbal Club Bălți, commonly known as Bălți, is a Moldovan professional football club based in Bălți, founded in 1984 as ''FC Zaria Bălți'' and refounded in 2020 as ''FC Bălți''. Zimbru Stadium
The Zimbru Stadium () is a football-specific stadium in Chișinău, Moldova, completed in May 2006 with a capacity of 10,104 people, meeting all norms required by UEFA and FIFA for national and international matches. Starting from June 2016, the Moldovan Football Federation took over the administration of Zimbru Stadium for a period of 10 years. Through this decision, the FMF assumed responsibility towards international football structures to modernize the stadium, ensuring that it meets all the necessary conditions for organizing matches in the international football tournament preliminaries held in Chișinău. FC Sfîntul Gheorghe was a Moldovan professional football club based in Suruceni that existed between 2003 and 2023.facebook.com History FC Sfîntul Gheorghe was founded in 2003. Until 2007, it was represented by seven youth teams, aged 10–18 years. In 2007, the Under-18 team became the champion of The Republic of Moldova. In 2008–09, the club decided to enter the second tier of Moldovan football, the Divizia A. In 2009, due to an excellent infrastructure of two stadiums, one with artificial turf and another with natural turf, the club met all the licensing criteria and obtained the "A" licence, which allowed the team to play in the Divizia Națională. In July 2023, the club ceased to exist amid a scandal involving match-fixing and the arrest of several players. UEFA stadium categories are categories for football stadiums laid out in UEFA's Stadium Infrastructure Regulations. Stadionul CPSM, officially Centrul de pregătire al selecționatelor Moldovei, since 2002, is the technical centre of the Moldovan Football Federation. It's located in Vadul lui Vodă, a village on the banks of the Dniester River, 25 kilometres away from the capital Chișinău. The technical centre was inaugurated on 21 August 2002. US$400,000 was invested in land base, a land of turf artificial construction designed specifically with other spectators, two natural land complex with a hotel, studio rooms and a medical centre.
