2022–23 Memphis Grizzlies Season
The 2022–23 Memphis Grizzlies season was the 28th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and 22nd in Memphis. The Grizzlies qualified for the playoffs for the third consecutive season and won the Southwest division title for the second consecutive season. In the playoffs the Grizzlies were upset by the seventh-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the first round, losing in six games, becoming the sixth 2-seed team to lose a playoff series against a 7-seed, following the Dallas Mavericks in 1987, the Utah Jazz in 1989, the San Antonio Spurs in 1991, the Miami Heat in 1998, and the Dallas Mavericks again in 2010. Taylor Jenkins
Taylor Vetter Jenkins (born September 12, 1984) is an American professional basketball coach who was most recently the head coach for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Early life and education Jenkins attended the St. Mark's School of Texas in Dallas. He was a two-time captain on their basketball team, where he played as an undersized forward. He studied at the University of Pennsylvania and earned a Bachelor's of Science in economics while concentrating in management and minoring in psychology. He did not play college basketball. Temetrius Jamel "Ja" Morant ( ; born August 10, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Murray State Racers, where he was a consensus first-team All-American as a sophomore in 2019. Morant was only lightly recruited by NCAA Division I programs and unranked by recruiting services, despite having been named All-Region Most Valuable Player three times and earning All-State honors at Crestwood High School in Sumter, South Carolina. Jake LaRavia
Jacob Glen LaRavia ( ; born November 3, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Indiana State Sycamores and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. After leading his high school team, Lawrence Central, to its first sectional title since 2012, LaRavia played two seasons of college basketball at Indiana State. With the Sycamores, he was named to the MVC All-Freshman and All-Newcomer teams as a freshman and was named to the Second-team All-MVC in his sophomore season. The VCU Rams men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Virginia Commonwealth University. The Rams joined the Atlantic 10 Conference in the 2012–13 season after previously competing in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). Tyrone Lewis "TyTy" Washington Jr. (born November 15, 2001) is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Valley Suns of the NBA G League.
