The 2022–23 in Scottish football, 2022–23 season was Livingston's fifth consecutive season in the Scottish Premiership, the top flight of Scottish football. Livingston also competed in the 2022–23 Scottish League Cup, League Cup and the 2022–23 Scottish Cup, Scottish Cup. Season Summary In the season-opening League Cup group stage, Livingston picked up wins against Cove Rangers, Albion Rovers and Kelty Hearts, but were beaten 1-2 at home by Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C., Inverness. They finished as runners-up in their group behind Inverness, but still qualified for the knockout round by virtue of being one of the three best second-placed teams. The Lions were knocked out in the Second Round in a 1-2 home defeat by Dundee United. Scott Harry Nathaniel Arfield (born 1 November 1988) is a professional association football, soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Premiership club Falkirk F.C., Falkirk. Esmaël Ruti Tavares Cruz da Silva Gonçalves (born 25 June 1991), also known as Isma, is a Bissau-Guinean footballer who plays as a center forward and winger and is a free agent after leaving Scottish club Livingston in September 2023. Cristian Alexis Montaño Castillo (born 11 December 1991) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays for club Livingston. A versatile player, he can play at left-back or as a forward, though his preferred position is as a winger; he is known for his pace. Linlithgow ( ; ; ) is a town in West Lothian, Scotland. It was historically West Lothian's county town, reflected in the county's historical name of Linlithgowshire. Stenhousemuir (; ) is a town in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. It lies within the Falkirk council area of Scotland. The town is north-northwest of Falkirk and directly adjoins to Larbert in the west, where the nearest rail access is located.
