Lechia Gdańsk
Lechia Gdańsk () is a Polish football (soccer), football club based in Gdańsk. As of the 2025–26 Ekstraklasa, 2025–26 season, they compete in the Ekstraklasa. The club was founded in 1945 by people Polish population transfers (1944–1946), expelled from Lviv, Lwów, who were supporters of Poland's oldest football team Lechia Lwów, founded in 1903. The club's name comes from Lechia, a poetic name for Poland, and is a continuation of the name used by the club based in Lwów. In their early years, Lechia enjoyed some success, most notably finishing third in the Ekstraklasa, Polish top division, before spending decades in the second and third tiers. In the early 1980s, Lechia won the Polish Cup, the Polish Super Cup, and played in a European competition for the first time. After having two mergers with other teams in the 1990s the club had to restart from the sixth tier in 2001. Maciej Gajos (born 19 March 1991) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. International career Gajos received his first call up to the Poland national team in November 2014, for a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia and a friendly against Switzerland, but did not make an appearance in either of them. Flávio Emanuel Lopes Paixão (born 19 September 1984) is a Portuguese former professional footballer who played as a forward. He never played professionally in his own country, and earned his greatest successes in Poland, scoring 108 Ekstraklasa goals for Śląsk Wrocław and Lechia Gdańsk, all-time best for a foreigner. Łukasz Zjawiński (born 11 July 2001) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a forward for I liga club Polonia Warsaw. Club career Zjawiński started his career playing with the youth sides of his local team Iskra Pszczyna. He had spells in the youth sides of the largest teams in the area, Ruch Chorzów and Górnik Zabrze, before moving to Warsaw to join Legia Warsaw. Michał Nalepa (born 22 January 1993) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Ekstraklasa club Zagłębie Lubin. Club career In July 2011, Nalepa joined Ruch Radzionków on a one-season loan deal from Wisła Kraków. He made his league debut for Radzionkow on 13 August 2011 in a 2–2 home draw with GKS Katowice. Mario Maloča (born 4 May 1989) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Gorica. Club career Maloča spent most of his youth career at Dinamo Zagreb and had spells with youth teams at NK Zagreb, Inter Zaprešić and Kamen Ingrad. In 2007, Maloča signed for Hajduk Split.
