2022–23 LEN Champions League
The 2022–23 LEN Champions League was the 60th edition of LEN's premier competition for men's water polo clubs. The champions were Pro Recco of Italy, who defeated Novi Beograd of Serbia 14–11 in the Final in Belgrade. Qualified teams The full list of teams qualified for each stage of the 2022–23 EHF European League was announced on 12 July 2022. Schedule The schedule of the competition is as follows. LEN Champions League
The European Aquatics Champions League is the top-tier European professional water polo club competition with teams from up to 18 countries. It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. The competition started in 1963 as European Cup. A change of name and format occurred in 1996, with the competition being renamed Champions League and the final four system being established as the format of choice, for the first time during the 1996–97 LEN Champions League. From 2003 to 2011 the competition was named LEN Euroleague (with the change of name being simply a re-branding) and from 2011 to 2024 was named the LEN Champions League. From 2024, after Ligue Européenne de Natation, LEN was renamed to European Aquatics, the new name is the European Aquatics Champions League. VK Šabac ( sr-cyr, ВК Шабац), also known as VK Šabac Elixir (for sponsorship reasons), is a professional water polo club based in Šabac, Serbia. Orvosegyetem Sport Club is a Hungarian professional water polo club from Budapest established in 1957 in the Semmelweis University. The club's peak was the 1970s. Orvosegyetem won six national championships in a row between 1969 and 1974, and in 1973 it won the European Cup, beating 4-times champion Partizan Belgrade in the final. In 1974 and 1975 also reached the European Cup's final, but lost to MGU Moscow and Partizan respectively. In 1976 it played its fourth European final, losing the Cup Winners' Cup to Mladost Zagreb. In 1978 and 1979 the team culminated its golden era winning its seventh national championship and its second European Cup. NO Vouliagmeni or "NOV" (Greek: Ναυτικός Όμιλος Βουλιαγμένης, "NOB" = Nautical Club of Vouliagmeni) is a major aquatic sports club, founded by local sportsmen in 1937 in the seaside resort of Vouliagmeni, Athens, Greece. The club is located on the eastern edge of the Mikro Kavouri peninsula, adjacent to the Astir Palace Hotel and overlooking the bay, town and lake of Vouliagmeni.
