2022–23 IIHF Continental Cup
The 2022–23 Continental Cup was the 25th edition of the IIHF Continental Cup, Europe's second-tier ice hockey club competition organised by International Ice Hockey Federation. The season began on 23 September 2022 and the final tournament was played from 13 to 15 January 2023. HK Nitra won the tournament for the first time thus becoming the fifth Slovak Extraliga, Slovak team in history to win the trophy. For the first time since the 2014–15 IIHF Continental Cup, 2014–15 season, the IIHF Continental Cup winners did not get a wild card spot for the next season of the Champions Hockey League due to the reduction in the number of teams participating in the latter beginning from the 2023–24 Champions Hockey League, 2023–24 season. HDD Jesenice
Hokejsko drsalno društvo Jesenice or simply HDD Jesenice is a Slovenian ice hockey team based in Jesenice. They are members of the Alps Hockey League and the Slovenian Ice Hockey League. HDD Jesenice was founded in 2014. The club replaced a temporary team called Team Jesenice, which was established in 2013. HDD Jesenice previously competed in the Inter-National League from 2014 to 2016, before the league merged into the Alps Hockey League. The Coupe de France () an ice hockey competition in France. It is the premier knockout cup organized by the French Ice Hockey Federation. Formula Participation is mandatory for the three highest tiers of the French men's hockey pyramid, and voluntary for members of the fourth tier, which may require the staging of a preliminary round for select teams in some years. Teams from the country's top tier, the Ligue Magnus, enter in the second round. When teams from different tiers are drawn against one another, the lower-tier team will automatically be designated as the host side (except for the final, which is played at a predetermined venue). Hoki Sport Klub Csíkszereda () is a professional ice hockey club based in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania. Italian Hockey League Serie A, formerly known as Serie A, is the top tier of professional ice hockey in Italy, which first began play in 1925. They are conducted under the authority of the Federazione Italiana Sport del Ghiaccio (FISG). The league initially merged with the Inter-National League to become the Alps Hockey League in 2016. Italian teams in the Alps Hockey League also compete in the Italian Hockey League - Serie A. The Országos Bajnokság I (; commonly abbreviated OB I) is the highest level hockey league in Hungary. After the formation of the MOL Liga, the OB I returned to having only Hungarian teams. The Polska Hokej Liga (''PHL'') is the premier ice hockey league in Poland. The highest professional level of ice hockey in Poland is the Polish Hockey League (PHL); also referred to as the Polska Hokej Liga. Previously, it was known as the I Liga or Ekstraklasa from 1926 to 1999, and the Polska Liga Hokejowa from 1999 to 2013.
