2022–23 Hong Kong Sapling Cup
The 2022–23 Sapling Cup (named as JC Sapling Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 8th edition of the Sapling Cup. The competition was contested by the 10 teams in the 2022–23 Hong Kong Premier League. Each team was required to field a minimum of three players born on or after 1 January 2001 (U-22) and a maximum of six foreign players during every whole match, with no more than five foreign players on the pitch at the same time. Eastern were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the semi-finals. Southern became the champions for the first time after beating Lee Man in the final. The champions of the Jockey Club Sapling Cup received HKD$120,000 in prize money, and HKD$100,000 donation to the champions' specified organization. Meanwhile, the runner-up received HKD$60,000, and HKD$50,000 donation to the runner-up's specified organization. The New Territories (N.T., Traditional Chinese characters, Chinese: ) is one of the three areas of Hong Kong, alongside Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Jacob Tse Long Hin (; born 6 February 1995 in Hong Kong) is a former Hong Kong professional footballer who played as a right back. Givanilton Martins Ferreira (born 13 April 1991), commonly known as Gil, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger. Club career Born in Irecê, Gil graduated from the youth setup of Vila Nova and was promoted to the senior team in 2009. After scoring three goals in the season's Série B, he joined Série A side Santos on a loan deal on 17 September 2009. Aberdeen, Hong Kong
Aberdeen ( ; Chinese: 香港仔; ) is an area on southwest Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. Administratively, it is part of the Southern District. While the name "Aberdeen" could be taken in a broad sense to encompass the areas of Aberdeen (town), Wong Chuk Hang, Ap Lei Chau, Tin Wan, Wah Kwai Estate and Wah Fu Estate, it is more often used to refer to the town only. Aberdeen Sports Ground () is a rugby union and football sports ground situated at 108 Wong Chuk Hang Road, Aberdeen, Hong Kong. It is the home stadium of Hong Kong Premier League football club Southern and Global Rapid Rugby rugby union team South China Tigers. Inside the stadium, there is one running track (6 lanes, 400m) and one natural grass pitch. Aberdeen Sports Ground is also the venue for 30 Hour Famine in Hong Kong. Lo Kong Wai (; born 19 June 1992) is a Hong Kong professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for Hong Kong Premier League club North District.
