2022–23 Hong Kong FA Cup
The 2022–23 Hong Kong FA Cup was the 48th edition of the Hong Kong FA Cup. 10 teams entered this edition. The competition is only open to clubs who participate in the 2022–23 Hong Kong Premier League, with lower division sides entering the Junior Division, a separate competition. The winners of this year's FA Cup qualified for the 2023–24 AFC Champions League qualifying play-off. Since the previous edition of the FA Cup was cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong, Eastern, the champions of the 2019–20 Hong Kong FA Cup remain the defending champions of the competition, but were eliminated in the semi-finals. Kitchee became the champions for the seventh time after beating Rangers in the final. As the 2022–23 Hong Kong Premier League title holders, Kitchee has qualified for the 2023–24 AFC Champions League group stage as league winners. Shu Sasaki
is a Japanese professional footballer who currently plays for Hong Kong Premier League club Southern. Career Upon graduating from Kansai University where he played on the varsity team, Sasaki signed his first professional contract with the Blacktown Spartans of the National Premier Leagues in Australia. He played with them from 2014 to 2016, when the club were relegated. In January 2017, Sasaki signed with Philippines Football League club Global Cebu. Mahama Awal
Mahama Awal (; born 10 June 1991) is a professional footballer who currently plays as a winger for Hong Kong Premier League club Southern. Born in Cameroon, he plays for the Hong Kong national team. Club career Awal joined China League One club Guangdong Sunray Cave in 2009. On 10 May 2009, he scored his first senior goal in the league match against Liaoning Whowin. Lee Ka Yiu (; born 10 April 1992) is a Hong Kong professional footballer who currently plays for Hong Kong Premier League club Southern. Club career Sham Shui Po Lee Ka Yiu joined Sham Shui Po youth team when he was young. In 2008, Third 'District' League team Sham Shui Po youth team members were all promoted to the first team to gain experience. Marcus McMillan (born 5 May 1995) is a former Scottish professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Hirokane Harima
is a former Hong Kong professional footballer of partial Japanese descent who plays as a forward. Club career Kitchee Born in Hong Kong to a Japanese father and Hong Kong mother, Harima spent time with Eastern and Rangers before joining Kitchee in 2013. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) has expired. For example, in a FIFA World Cup, penalties are used in elimination matches; the round of 32, the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final.
