2022–23 Eredivisie (women)
The 2022–23 Eredivisie Vrouwen is the thirteenth season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. Ajax won the league title, its third. The season saw Fortuna Sittard and Telstar enter the league, which grew to 11 teams. Twente's Fenna Kalma repeated as the top goal scorer and Player of the Year. Esmee Brugts of PSV was named the Talent of the Year. Format Each team played all other teams twice over 22 rounds, with one team having a bye each round due to the odd number of teams in the league. Teams Fortuna Sittard and Telstar joined the league, expanding it to 11 teams. Fortuna joined the league for the first time, while Telstar returned after last playing in the 2016–17 season. 2022–23 Eredivisie
The 2022–23 Eredivisie was the 67th season of the Eredivisie, the premier football competition in the Netherlands. It began on 5 August 2022 and concluded on 28 May 2023. As the 2022 FIFA World Cup started on 20 November, the last round before stoppage was held on 12–13 November. The league resumed games on 6 January. Teams Emmen (promoted after a one-year absence), Volendam (promoted after a thirteen-year absence) and Excelsior (promoted after a three-year absence) were promoted from the 2021–22 Eerste Divisie. Willem II (relegated after eight years in the top flight), PEC Zwolle (relegated after ten years in the top flight), and Heracles Almelo (relegated after seventeen years in the top flight) were relegated to the 2022–23 Eerste Divisie. Fortuna Sittard Stadion
The Fortuna Sittard Stadion () is a 12,000-capacity multi-use stadium on the Milaanstraat, Sittard, Netherlands. Currently used mostly for association football, football matches, it is the home stadium of Fortuna Sittard. Built on the site of an industrial estate in 1999, it replaced Fortuna Sittard's former stadium, De Baandert. There is a multi-storey car park with 800 spaces under the stadium and two parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. In 2013, they began to expand the stadion with an extra sports centrum next to it, a new hotel, a Aldi, Aldi-Nord discount supermarket in the stadium and a whole new look. Sittard
Sittard (; ) is a city in the Netherlands, situated in the southernmost province of Limburg. The town is part of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen and has almost 37,500 inhabitants in 2016. In its east, Sittard borders the German municipality of Selfkant (in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia). The city centre is located at 45 m above sea level. The Bingoal Stadion is a multi-use stadium in The Hague, Netherlands, designed by Zwarts & Jansma Architects. Completed in 2007, the stadium is used mostly for football and field hockey.
