2022–23 Duke Blue Devils Women's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Duke Blue Devils women's basketball team represented Duke University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Blue Devils were led by third year head coach Kara Lawson and played their home games at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Blue Devils finished the season 26–7 overall and 14–4 in ACC play to finish in a tie for second place. As the second seed in the ACC tournament they earned a bye into the Quarterfinals where they defeated rivals seventh seeded North Carolina before falling to eventual champions and third seed Virginia Tech in the Semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and were the third seed in the Seattle 4 Region. Kara Lawson
Kara Marie Lawson (born February 14, 1981) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Duke Blue Devils women's basketball team. She played professionally in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) and has also been a basketball television analyst for ESPN and the Washington Wizards. Lawson primarily played as a shooting guard. She won a gold medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, a championship with the Sacramento Monarchs in the 2005 WNBA Finals, and coached the United States women's national 3x3 team to gold in the 2020 Summer Olympics. Lawson retired from the WNBA in 2015 to focus on her broadcasting career. She began her coaching career as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics of the NBA in 2019. The 2021–22 Pittsburgh Panthers women's basketball team represented The University of Pittsburgh during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Panthers, were led by fourth-year head coach Lance White, and played their home games at the Petersen Events Center as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Panthers finished the season 11–19 overall, and 2–16 in ACC play, to finish in a tie for fourteenth place. As the fifteenth seed in the ACC tournament, they lost their First Round matchup with Duke. They were not invited to the NCAA tournament or the WNIT. Oregon State Beavers Women's Basketball
The Oregon State Beavers women's basketball team is the official women's basketball team of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. They are one of nine varsity women's sports at OSU. They are a member of the West Coast Conference and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The team's home venue is Gill Coliseum and their official colors are orange and black. Miela Elizabeth Sowah (; born 4 June 2000) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Brisbane Capitals of the NBL1 North. She is also contracted with the Townsville Fire of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). After winning a WNBL championship as a development player with the Townsville Fire in 2018, she played four seasons of college basketball in the United States for the Duke Blue Devils.
