The 2022–23 Charlotte Hornets season was the 33rd season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA). On April 22, 2022, the Charlotte Hornets fired head coach James Borrego after four years with the team with no playoff appearances. The Hornets failed to improve on their 43–39 record the previous season, with their 40th loss coming on February 5, to 2022-23 Orlando Magic season, Orlando. Additionally, after the 2022–23 Sacramento Kings season, Sacramento Kings clinched a playoff spot on March 29, 2023, the Hornets currently hold the distinction for having the longest playoff drought in the NBA with 7 seasons, last clinching in 2015–16 Charlotte Hornets season, 2016. Steve Clifford
Steven Gerald Clifford (born September 17, 1961) is an American professional basketball coach and executive who serves as a front office advisor for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He previously served as the head coach of the Hornets and the Orlando Magic. Early life Born in Island Falls, Maine, Clifford grew up in Mattawamkeag, Maine, until the third grade, when he moved to Vermont. He played varsity basketball under Gerald Clifford, his father and head coach at North Country Union High School in Newport, Vermont. The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Memphis in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Tigers have competed in the American Athletic Conference since 2013. The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is a professional basketball league in North America that serves as the Minor league#Basketball, developmental league of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Bruce Kreutzer is an American basketball coach and former player, who last worked as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Charles Norman Richardson (born July 24, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player and current coach, who last served as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Tyrone Corbin
Tyrone Kennedy Corbin (born December 31, 1962) is an American former professional basketball player who last worked as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Hornets. He was first appointed the assistant coach of the Phoenix Suns, then was named the Utah Jazz’s head coach, on February 10, 2011, following the resignation of longtime coach Jerry Sloan. Robert C. Beyer (born December 10, 1961) is an American professional basketball coach who is as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
