2022–23 Belgian National Division 1
The 2022–23 Belgian National Division 1 is the seventh season of the third-tier association football, football league in Belgium and the first one in which U23 teams are admitted into the league, due to the last minute bankruptcy of K.S.V. Roeselare, Roeselare. It is the third season under its new name after being renamed from First Amateur Division. The league began in 18 August 2022 and is scheduled to end in 21 May 2023. Verbroedering Dender Eendracht Hekelgem, Dender EH was promoted as champions of the previous season. * UR La Louvière Centre, La Louvière Centre was relegated after finishing last. Belgian National Division 1
The Belgian Division 1 is a semi-professional division and the third-highest division in the Football in Belgium, Belgian football Belgian football league system, league system, one level below the Challenger Pro League. It was created by the Royal Belgian Football Association in 2016, coming in at the third level and pushing all divisions one level down. Initially it was known as the ''Belgian First Amateur Division'', but due to the negative connotation of the word ''amateur'' the league was renamed to Belgian National Division 1 from the 2019–20 season onwards. Then, from the 2024–25 season, a split was made into two separate divisions, with the teams holding a Flemish license and those playing with a Francophone license now playing in separate divisions within the league. The 2023–24 season of the Challenger Pro League began in August 2023 and is scheduled to end in May 2024. It is the second season under its new name after being renamed from ''First Division B''. 2022–23 Belgian Division 2
The 2022–23 Belgian Division 2 is the seventh season of the division in its current format, placed at the fourth-tier of football in Belgium. With respect to the previous season, the most important change is the inclusion of U23 teams, with all three divisions seeing two teams enter and increase the size from 16 to 18 teams as a result. As before, leagues VV A and VV B consist of teams with a license from the Voetbalfederatie Vlaanderen (VV, the Flemish/Dutch speaking wing of the Belgian FA), while the ACFF league contains teams with a license from the Association des Clubs Francophones de Football (ACFF, the French-speaking wing of the RBFA).
