2022–23 Alcorn State Braves Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Alcorn State Braves basketball team represented Alcorn State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Braves, led by third-year head coach Landon Bussie, played their home games at the Davey Whitney Complex in Lorman, Mississippi as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Previous season The Braves finished the 2021–22 season 17–17, 14–4 in SWAC play, to finish as SWAC regular-season champions. In the SWAC tournament, they defeated Prairie View A&M and Alabama A&M, before falling to Texas Southern in the SWAC championship game. As a regular-season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament title, they received an automatic bid to the NIT, where they lost in the first round to Texas A&M. Landon Bussie
Landon Everett Bussie (born November 11, 1987) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head coach of Chicago State. Playing career Bussie played his first two years at Livingstone College before finishing his playing career at Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA). Coaching career XULA Bussie started his coaching career at his alma mater. He was an assistant coach at XULA for four seasons. Prairie View A&M Bussie was first hired by Prairie View A&M as the women's assistant coach in 2013. Bussie then switched over to the men's side in 2014. 2022–23 Ole Miss Rebels Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball team represented the University of Mississippi during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rebels were led by fifth-year head coach, Kermit Davis, until his dismissal on February 24. The Rebels played their home games at The Sandy and John Black Pavilion at Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi as members of the Southeastern Conference. They finished the season 12–21, 3–15 in SEC play to finish in 13th place.
