2022 Nigeria Invitational Women's T20I Tournament
The 2022 Nigeria Invitational Women's T20I Tournament was a women's T20I cricket (WT20I) tournament that was held in Nigeria from 28 March to 3 April 2022. The venue for all of the matches was the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos. Along with the hosts Nigeria, the tournament featured the national teams of Gambia, Ghana, Rwanda and Sierra Leone. Cameroon women's national cricket team, Cameroon were also originally scheduled to take part. As the two highest ranked sides in the tournament, Nigeria and Rwanda were seeded in the draw. Originally, Nigeria were placed in group A with Ghana and Gambia, while Rwanda were placed in group B with Sierra Leone and Cameroon. However, Cameroon withdrew from the tournament and the format was changed to a round-robin followed by a third-place play-off and a final. Nigeria Cricket Federation
The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Nigeria. Its current headquarters is in Lagos. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Occurrence At least one batter is not out at the end of every innings, because once ten batters are out, the eleventh has no partner to bat on with so the innings ends. Usually two batters finish not out if the batting side declares in first-class cricket, and often at the end of the scheduled number of overs in limited overs cricket. Benin City
Benin City is the capital and largest city of Edo State, Nigeria. Sarah Uwera (born 1 June 1996) is a Rwandan cricketer and a former captain of the Rwanda women's cricket team. Uwera first began to play cricket in 2012, and also played for Rwanda's under-19 team. In January 2019, Uwera was named in Rwanda's squad for their first ever Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches, against Nigeria. Uwera made her WT20I debut on 26 January 2019, for Rwanda against Nigeria at the National Stadium in Abuja, but only scored three runs.
