2022 Milano–Torino
The 2022 Milano–Torino was the 103rd edition of the Milano–Torino cycling classic. It was held on 16 March 2022 as a category 1.Pro race on the 2022 UCI ProSeries calendar. The race, which is usually held in the autumn, was held in March for the first time since 2005. The race began in Magenta, on the outskirts of Milan, and finished in Rivoli, on the outskirts of Turin. The slightly undulating route was long but was still expected to favour the sprinters. Teams Fourteen of the 18 UCI WorldTeams and six UCI ProTeams made up the 20 teams that participated in the race. Of these teams, 15 entered a full squad of seven riders; , , , and each entered six riders, while was the only team to enter five riders. In total, there were 134 riders entered into the race, though only 131 started; of those riders, 129 finished. 2022 UCI ProSeries
The 2022 UCI ProSeries is the third season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The original calendar consisted of 56 events, of which 30 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 26 are stage races (2.Pro). There are 47 events in Europe, six in Asia, two in the United States, and one in Argentina. Biniam Girmay
Biniam Girmay Hailu (born 2 April 2000) is a professional Eritrean road cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . At the 2022 Giro d'Italia, he became the first Black African cyclist to win a Grand Tour stage after winning stage 10 in a reduced bunch sprint. Career After discovering cycling through his cousin Meron Teshome, Girmay joined the World Cycling Centre in 2018 for his second junior year. That year, he became a triple junior cycling champion of Africa, winning the road race, time trial and team time trial. He also won the first stage of Aubel–Thimister–Stavelot, beating out favorite Remco Evenepoel. Simone Consonni (born 12 September 1994) is an Italian professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. Benjamin Ian Swift (born 5 November 1987) is a British professional track and road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Swift won the scratch race at the 2012 UCI Track Cycling World Championships and the men's elite road race at the 2019 and 2021 British National Road Race Championships. His cousin, Connor Swift, is also an English professional road racing cyclist, and the 2018 British champion. Michael Mørkøv Christensen (; born 30 April 1985) is a Danish professional racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the brother of racing cyclists Jacob and Jesper Mørkøv.
