2022 Calypso Lemonade 150
The 2022 Calypso Lemonade 150 was the sixth stock car race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season, the fifth race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series East season, the second race of the 2022 Sioux Chief Showdown, and the 16th iteration of the event. The first part of the race was held on Saturday, June 11, 2022, but because of inclement weather, the rest of the race was held on Sunday, June 12. It was held in Newton, Iowa at Iowa Speedway, a 0.875 mile (1.408 km) permanent oval-shaped racetrack. The race took the scheduled 150 laps to complete. Brandon Jones, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, took the lead away from Sammy Smith with 18 laps to go, and would earn his 7th career ARCA Menards Series win, his 2nd career ARCA Menards Series East win, and his second win of the season. Calypso Lemonade 150
The Calypso Lemonade 150 is an ARCA Menards Series/ARCA Menards Series East combination race held at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa. The inaugural race was held on October 15, 2006 and was 250 laps in length. The race was shortened to 200 laps in 2009 and 150 laps in 2013. From 2015 to 2020, the race was held on the same weekend as the IndyCar Series race at Iowa. The ARCA Menards Series East, formerly the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, joined the ARCA Menards Series in this race starting in 2021 and it became one of three combination races for the two series, the others being Milwaukee and Bristol. The ARCA Menards Series East (formerly Busch East Series, Busch North Series, Camping World East Series, and NASCAR K&N Pro Series East) is a regional stock car racing series owned and operated by the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) and the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). Races are held at oval tracks ranging from in length and on two road courses, in length. Most races are stand-alone events (i.e. not in conjunction with other NASCAR touring series), but there are three race weekends that are in combination with the NASCAR Cup Series. Andrew Hillenburg (born April 30, 1963) is an American former professional stock car racing driver and current team owner and track owner.
