2022 CONCACAF W Championship
The 2022 CONCACAF W Championship was the 11th edition of the CONCACAF W Championship, the quadrennial international Women's association football, women's football championship contested by the senior List of women's national association football teams, women's national teams of the member associations of CONCACAF, the regional governing body of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. Eight teams played in the tournament, which took place from 4 to 18 July 2022 in Mexico. The United States women's national soccer team, United States emerged as the winner, defeating Canada women's national soccer team, Canada 1–0 in the final. The Women's football tournament at the 2023 Pan American Games was held in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar from 22 October to 3 November 2023. Qualification A total of eight women's teams qualified to compete at the games, four CONMEBOL teams and four CONCACAF teams. For CONMEBOL, the three teams ranked third to fifth at the 2022 Copa América Femenina qualified, while Chile automatically qualified as hosts; however, Venezuela declined to participate less than a month until the tournament due to lack of release of players by clubs, so Bolivia replaced the country. The CONCACAF play-off of the 2024 Women's Olympic Football Tournament qualification competition decided the second CONCACAF spot for the Olympic football tournament in France. Contested over two legs in September 2023 by the teams that finished second and third in the 2022 CONCACAF W Championship, Canada defeated Jamaica in both matches to qualify for its fifth consecutive Olympics. The 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup was the inaugural edition of the CONCACAF W Gold Cup, an international women's soccer competition contested by the senior women's national teams of the member associations of CONCACAF.
