2021–22 Tour De Ski
The 2021–22 Tour de Ski was the 16th edition of the Tour de Ski and part of the 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup. The World Cup stage event began in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on 28 December 2021 and concluded with the Final Climb stage in Val di Fiemme, Italy, on 4 January 2022. The tour was the fourth edition starting in Lenzerheide. Alexander Bolshunov from Russia and Jessie Diggins from United States were the title defenders. Bolshunov wasn't able to win, as Johannes Høsflot Klæbo from Norway took the yellow bib on first stage and extended the lead over Russian to over two minutes. This is second overall victory for Klæbo. Natalya Nepryayeva won the women competition after her two overall second places in the past and became the first Russian female to win Tour de Ski. 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The 2021–22 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 41st official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 26 November 2021 in Ruka, Finland and was scheduled to conclude with the World Cup Finals on 18–20 March 2022 in Tyumen, Russia. But after the Russian invasion of Ukraine FIS announced that the World Cup Finals would be cancelled or moved. As a result, the final competition was the mixed team events on 13 March 2022 in Falun, Sweden. The season featured a break in February for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. On 1 March 2022, following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIS decided to exclude athletes from Russia and Belarus from FIS competitions, with an immediate effect. Jessie Diggins
Jessica Diggins (born August 26, 1991) is an American Cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier. She is the most accomplished cross-country skier from the United States in the sport's history having won three World Cup overall titles, three Olympic medals, seven World Championship medals, and numerous other event championships. Diggins has used her status as a famous athlete to advance advocacy related to climate change and eating disorders. Denis Spitsov
Denis Sergeyevich Spitsov (; born 16 August 1996) is a Russian cross-country skier who competes internationally. Spitsov debuted in the World Cup in Davos, Switzerland, on 9 December 2017. He participated at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where he won a bronze medal in 15 km interval race, two silver medals in team sprint (with Alexander Bolshunov) and men's relay. The International Ski and Snowboard Federation, also known as FIS (), is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. It was previously known as the International Ski Federation () until 26 May 2022 when the name was changed to include snowboard. Sjur Røthe (born 2 July 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. He is a three-time World champion. Career He made his World Cup debut in March 2009 in Trondheim, but did not finish the race, and collected his first World Cup points in November 2009 in Beitostølen, with an eighteenth place. A fifteenth place in a 4 × 10 km relay race followed. He represents the sports club Voss IL, and lives in Oslo. He was diagnosed with Bekhterev's disease. Kerttu Niskanen
Kerttu Elina Niskanen (born 13 June 1988) is a Finnish cross-country skier. She is a four-time Olympic medalist. Career At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, her first senior WCH, Niskanen finished eighth in the 10 km classical event. To date, her best individual World Championship results are 4th places in the skiathlon and 30 km classical in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, she won two silver medals as a member of team Finland: in 4 × 5 km relay and in team sprint. She also finished fourth in 30 km freestyle.
