2021–22 The Citadel Bulldogs Basketball Team
The 2021–22 The Citadel Bulldogs basketball team represented The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by seventh-year head coach Duggar Baucom, played their home games at McAlister Field House in Charleston, South Carolina as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). They finished the season 13–18, 6–12 in SoCon play, to finish in ninth place. They defeated East Tennessee State in the first round of the SoCon tournament before losing to Chattanooga in the quarterfinals. On March 10, 2022, the school fired head coach Duggar Baucom. On March 23, the school named former Minnesota and Vanderbilt assistant Ed Conroy the team's new head coach. Conroy was the head coach of the Bulldogs from 2006 to 2010. Duggar Baucom
Robert Franklin "Duggar" Baucom (born September 21, 1960) is an American college basketball coach, most recently the head men's basketball coach at The Citadel. Baucom was hired as the Citadel's head coach following the 2014–15 season. He was previously the head coach at Virginia Military Institute. He's also served a coach at Tusculum, Davidson, Western Carolina and Northwestern State. At the conclusion of the 2017–18 season, Baucom's career record is 184–223 in Division I and 37–19 in Division II. Early life Baucom was born on September 21, 1960, and grew up around Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville where he played basketball. 2021 Southern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 Southern Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Southern Conference for the 2020–21 season. All tournament games were played at the Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina, from March 5 through 8, 2021. The winner of the tournament received the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. Seeds All ten teams in the Southern Conference were eligible to compete in the conference tournament. Teams were seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. The top six teams received first-round byes. Miramar is a city in southern Broward County, Florida, United States. It is a suburb of the Miami metropolitan area.
