2021–22 Shrewsbury Town F.C. Season
The 2021–22 season is Shrewsbury Town's 136th year in their history and seventh consecutive season in League One. Along with the league, the club will also compete in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. The season covers the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Pre-season friendlies Shrewsbury Town confirmed as part of their pre-season preparations they would have friendlies against AFC Telford United, Tamworth, Hereford and Exeter City. However, the planned friendly against Tamworth was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Shrewsbury ( , ) is a market town and civil parish in Shropshire (district), Shropshire, England. It is sited on the River Severn, northwest of Wolverhampton, west of Telford, southeast of Wrexham and north of Hereford. At the 2021 United Kingdom census, 2021 census, the parish had a population of 76,782. It is the county town of the ceremonial county of Shropshire. Shrewsbury has Anglo-Saxons, Anglo-Saxon roots and institutions whose foundations, dating from that time, represent a cultural continuity possibly going back as far as the 8th century. Theo Streete (born 23 November 1987) is an English footballer who plays as a defender for Leamington. Career Born in Birmingham, Streete began his career with Derby County, turning professional in August 2006, but only on a short-term deal. He joined Doncaster Rovers on loan in September 2006, making his league debut for Rovers on 30 September in the 2–0 defeat away to Scunthorpe United. His last game for Doncaster was a 1–0 win against Nottingham Forest in December 2006, Doncaster's last competitive game at their Belle Vue ground in which Streete scored a bizarre second-half goal. He was released by Derby after returning from his spell on loan. In mid-January 2007, Streete had a trial with Bristol Rovers, and later that month had a further trial with Grimsby Town. Exeter
Exeter ( ) is a City status in the United Kingdom, cathedral city and the county town of Devon in South West England. St James Park (Exeter)
St James Park is a football stadium in Exeter and the home of Exeter City FC. The stadium is served by the St James Park railway station, which is right next to the ground (the line runs behind the grandstand). It has been adopted by the club who contribute to its upkeep, under the community rail scheme, and its railings have been painted in the red and white of Exeter's strip. The capacity of St James Park following completion of a £3.4 million redevelopment project is 8,219. The record attendance is 20,984, who watched Exeter lose 4–2 to Sunderland in an FA Cup Sixth Round Replay in 1931. Hereford
Hereford ( ) is a cathedral city and the county town of the ceremonial county of Herefordshire, England. It is on the banks of the River Wye and lies east of the border with Wales, north-west of Gloucester and south-west of Worcester. Edgar Street, currently known as MandM Edgar Street Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Hereford and was the home of Hereford United Football Club from the club's formation in 1924 until December 2014, when the club was wound up. It is now the home of Hereford FC, a phoenix club formed to replace the former club. It is the largest football stadium in the county of Herefordshire and is located on the edge of Hereford city centre, adjacent to the former cattle market (now The Old Market). Shaun Whalley
Shaun James Whalley (born 7 August 1987) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Accrington Stanley. Born in Prescot, Merseyside, Whalley played for Norwich City and Southport as a youth before making his Football League debut with Chester City in 2004. After leaving Chester, he spent time in non-League football with Runcorn F.C. Halton and Witton Albion. While on the books at Witton, he spent five weeks on trial with Football League One side Crewe Alexandra but was not offered a contract, so he signed for League Two side Accrington Stanley in 2006. Miles Storey
Miles James Storey (born 4 January 1994) is an English footballer who plays as a forward for club Colne. Originally from the West Midlands, Storey began his professional career at Swindon Town. Although he did not become a main part of Swindon's set-up at the time, Storey was sent on loan to numerous clubs such as Portsmouth, Newport County and Inverness Caledonian Thistle. His goal-scoring form in the Scottish Premiership attracted more interest and in May 2016 Storey signed for Aberdeen, before moving to Partick Thistle in August 2017.
