Oman Professional League
The Oman Professional League (; known as the ''Omantel Professional League'' for sponsorship reasons), previously known as the Omantel Elite League, is the top division of the Oman Football Association, and was officially created in 1976. Currently, the most successful team in the league is Dhofar S.C.S.C., Dhofar with 12 titles to their name. Evolution to a professional league In 2010, during the annual draw for the Sultan Qaboos Cup, Sultan Qaboos bin Said, Sultan of Oman, granted the Oman Football Association, OFA an annual 2.6 million Omani Rial, rial (approximately 6.7 million US Dollars, dollars) till the year 2015 to further boost the development of the league. The move was made to nurture Oman's football youth, and create higher hopes of Oman qualifying for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Al-Nasr Sports, Cultural and Social Club (; also known locally as ''Al-Malik'', or "The King", or just plainly as Al-Nasr) is an Omani sports club based in Salalah, in southern Oman. The club currently plays in the Oman Professional League, top division of Oman Football Association. Nizwa () is the largest city in Ad Dakhiliyah Region in Oman and was the capital of Imamate of Oman, Oman proper. Nizwa is about (1.5 hour drive) from the Omani capital Muscat. Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex
The Sultan Qaboos Stadium at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex (), also known locally as Boshar (), is a government-owned multi-purpose stadium in the Boshar district of Muscat, Oman. It is currently used mostly for football matches. It has facilities for athletics too and has also staged field hockey matches.
