2021–22 FC Bayern Munich Season
The 2021–22 season was the 123rd season in the existence of FC Bayern Munich and the club's 57th consecutive season in the top flight of German football. In addition to the domestic league, Bayern Munich participated in this season's editions of the DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League, as well as the DFL-Supercup as winners of the 2020–21 Bundesliga. The season was the first since 2009–10 without David Alaba, who departed to Real Madrid and the first since 2010–11 without Javi Martínez and Jérôme Boateng, who departed to Qatar SC and Lyon respectively in the same summer transfer window. Qatar Sports Club () is a sports club based in Doha, Qatar. It is best known for its football team which competes in the Qatar Stars League. Jérôme Boateng
Jérôme Agyenim Boateng (; born 3 September 1988) is a German professional footballer who plays for Austrian Bundesliga club LASK. Boateng started his career at Hertha BSC where he developed from the youth ranks to the first team. After his debut season at Hertha, he soon signed for Hamburger SV and established himself as an integral part of the team, helping the club reach two consecutive UEFA Europa League semi-finals. After a season playing for Manchester City, he joined Bayern Munich in 2011 and won many domestic and European honours with the club, most notably the continental treble in the 2012–13 and 2019–20 seasons. The 2010–11 season of FC Bayern Munich began on 21 June with their first training session. Off-season Bayern already made a few squad changes. They released the previously loaned out Luca Toni from his contract and sold Christian Lell to Hertha BSC. David Alaba (; born 24 June 1992) is an Austrian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for La Liga club Real Madrid and captains the Austria national team. The 2009–10 season of Bayern Munich began on 1 July with their first training session, led by the team's new head coach Louis van Gaal. After several friendlies the first competitive game was a cup game on 1 August. The league started on 8 August. The 2020–21 Bundesliga was the 58th season of the Bundesliga, Germany's premier football competition. It began on 18 September 2020 and concluded on 22 May 2021.
