2021–22 Crewe Alexandra F.C. Season
The 2021–22 season was Crewe Alexandra's 145th year in their history, their 98th in the Football League and second consecutive season in League One. Along with the league, the club also competed in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. The season covered the period from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022. Crewe's relegation to League Two was confirmed following a 2–0 defeat at Doncaster on 9 April 2022. Pre-season friendlies Crewe Alexandra announced they would play friendlies against Nantwich Town, Witton Albion, Ashton United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City, Kidsgrove Athletic, Nottingham Forest, Oldham Athletic, Wolverhampton Wanderers U23s and Huddersfield Town as part of their pre-season preparations. Crewe Alexandra F
Crewe () is a railway town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. The Crewe built-up area had a total population of 75,556 in 2011, which also covers parts of the adjacent civil parishes of Willaston, Shavington cum Gresty and Wistaston. Crewe is perhaps best known as a large railway junction and home to Crewe Works; for many years, it was a major railway engineering facility for manufacturing and overhauling locomotives, but now much reduced in size. From 1946 until 2002, it was also the home of Rolls-Royce motor car production. The Pyms Lane factory on the west of the town now exclusively produces Bentley motor cars. Owen Dale
Owen Dale (born 1 November 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger for Portsmouth, on loan from Blackpool. Signed from Crewe Alexandra in January 2022, he has previously also played for Witton Albion and Altrincham. Career Crewe Alexandra Dale signed professional terms with Crewe in March 2016. He made his debut on 29 August 2017, coming on as a 70th minute substitute for Charlie Kirk in an EFL Trophy group stage game against Newcastle United U21s at Gresty Road. He made his league debut in Crewe's next game, coming on as a second-half substitute for Callum Ainley at Grimsby Town on 2 September 2017. Nantwich
Nantwich ( ) is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. It has among the highest concentrations of listed buildings in England, with notably good examples of Tudor and Georgian architecture. It had a population of 14,045 in 2021. Joshua Lundstram (born 19 February 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Oldham Athletic. Career Crewe Alexandra Lundstram graduated from Crewe's academy in summer 2017. He gained experience in non-League football with loan moves to Sandbach United F.C., Sandbach United, Newcastle Town F.C., Newcastle Town and Nuneaton Borough F.C., Nuneaton Borough, the latter for a month in January 2019. He was given a one-year contract, with an optional one-year extension, in May 2019. Regan Jon Griffiths (born 1 May 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays for Marine as a midfielder. Career A graduate of Crewe Alexandra's Academy, he signed a professional contract in 2018. In February 2020, he joined Kidsgrove Athletic on a month-long loan before having a similar spell at Witton Albion in October that year. Huddersfield is a market town in the Kirklees district in West Yorkshire, England. It is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Kirklees district. Oldham is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, amid the Pennines and between the rivers Irk and Medlock, southeast of Rochdale and northeast of Manchester. Kidsgrove Athletic F
Kidsgrove is a town in the borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England, on the Cheshire border. It is part of the Potteries Urban Area, along with Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. It has a population of 26,276 (2019 census). Most of the town is in the Kidsgrove ward, whilst the western part is in Ravenscliffe. History From the 18th century, Kidsgrove grew around coal mining, although the pits have now closed. Clough Hall Mansion in the town is now demolished.
