2021–22 Biathlon IBU Cup
The 2021–22 Biathlon IBU Cup was a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the IBU. IBU Cup is the second-rank competition in biathlon after the Biathlon World Cup. The season started on 25 November 2021 in Idre, Sweden and ended on 13 March 2022 in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna, Italy. The defending overall champions from the 2020–21 Biathlon IBU Cup were Filip Fjeld Andersen from Norway and Vanessa Voigt from Germany. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian and Belarusian biathletes are only allowed to compete under a neutral flag since the competition in Kontiolahti. Their performances are not included in the previous classifications of their countries. Previously, the Ukrainian national team announced the withdrawal from the biathlon competition by the end of the season. Biathlon World Cup
The Biathlon World Cup is a top-level biathlon season-long competition series. It has been held since the winter seasons of 1977–78 for men and 1982–83 for women. The women's seasons until 1986–87 season were called the European Cup, although participation was not restricted to Europeans. Competition and format The World Cup season lasts from November or December to late March, with meetings in a different venue every week excluding some holidays and a couple of weeks before the season's major championships (World Championships or Winter Olympics). All in all, the season comprises nine to ten meetings, with events taking place from Wednesday–Thursday through Sunday. Relay competitions are held four to six times per season. Sjusjøen is a cross country skiing destination in the municipality of Ringsaker in Innlandet county, Norway. Situated on the mountain plateau south of Sjusjøen is Hedmarksvidda. Filip Fjeld Andersen (born 4 July 1999) is a Norwegian biathlete. He has competed in the Biathlon World Cup since 2022. He is the younger brother of former Norwegian biathlete Aleksander Fjeld Andersen.
