2021–22 Austrian Football Second League
The 2021–22 Austrian Football Second League known as the Admiral 2nd League for sponsorship purposes, was the 48th season of the Austrian second-level football league and the fourth as the Second League. The league consisted of 16 teams. Teams Sixteen teams participated in the 2021–22 season. The only added team was St. Pölten, relegated from the 2020–21 Austrian Football Bundesliga. Due to the suspension of the 2020–21 Austrian Regionalliga, no club was relegated from the previous season SC Austria Lustenau captured the title and will return to the Austrian Football Bundesliga for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. Austrian Football Second League
The Second League (), commonly known as Admiral 2. Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest professional division in Austrian football. The division currently contains 16 teams, and the champion of the league is promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga if it is not a reserve team. The two last-placed teams are directly relegated from the Second League into the regional leagues. Teams Starting in the 2018–19 season, the former First League changed its name to the Second League and expanded from ten teams to 16 teams. Sixteen teams will participate in the 2025–26 season. One Team relegated from Bundesliga and Three teams promoted from Regionalliga. Austria Klagenfurt were relegated from the 2024–25 Austrian Football Bundesliga. While, Young Violets Austria Wien, Hertha Wels and Austria Salzburg were promoted from the 2024–25 Austrian Regionalliga, respectively. Planet Pure Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Lustenau, Austria, built in 1951. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and is the home ground of SC Austria Lustenau. The stadium (before the 2024-2025 renovation) holds 5,138 people, of which 3,094 seats and 2,044 standing. History The stadium was built in 1951. In 1953 the stadium received its first real grandstand. In 1995 the main grandstand was rebuilt and in 2000 the natural turf pitch was given underfloor heating. Lustenau (; ) is a town in the westernmost Austrian States of Austria, state of Vorarlberg in the district of Dornbirn (district), Dornbirn. SK Vorwärts Steyr is an Austrian association football club based in Steyr. It was founded in 1919. They play at the Vorwärts Stadium. Currently the club has about 500 members. Grazer Athletiksport Klub (; abbreviated as GAK), better known simply as Grazer AK, is an Austrian sports club based in the city of Graz in the federal state of Styria. Sportverein Horn is a football club based in the city of Horn, Austria, which competes in the Austrian Regionalliga East, one of the third tiers of Austrian football, following relegation from the 2. Liga in the 2024–25. Founded in 1922, SV Horn won the Landesliga Niederösterreich title in 1991, 1998, and 2007.
