2021 Torneo Federal A
The 2021 Argentine Torneo Federal A, was the ninth season of the Torneo Federal A, the regionalised third tier of the Argentine football league system. The tournament is reserved for teams indirectly affiliated to the Asociación del Fútbol Argentino (AFA), while teams affiliated to AFA have to play the Primera B Metropolitana, which is the other third tier competition. The competition was contested by 27 of the 31 teams that took part in the 2020 Torneo Federal A, 2020 season and four teams promoted from Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. Two teams will be promoted to Primera B Nacional and there was no relegation to Torneo Regional Federal Amateur. The season began on 11 April and ended in December 2021. Torneo Federal A
The Torneo Federal A () is one of the two professional leagues that form the regionalised third level of the Argentine football league system, along with Primera B Metropolitana. The competition was established in 2014 as a result of a change in the structure of the league system, replacing Torneo Argentino A. Federal A is organised by "Consejo Federal", a division of the Argentine Football Association. Clubs in Federal A have indirect membership in AFA unlike clubs in Primera B, which have direct membership. All teams with indirect membership are from outside the city of Buenos Aires (playing in regional leagues) and its metropolitan area (Greater Buenos Aires), while most of the direct members are from the aforementioned area. Club Sportivo Desamparados is a sports club from the city of San Juan, and also called Consultants Moravia San Juan Province, Argentina. The football team currently plays in the Torneo Argentino B, which is one of the fourth tier competitions, along with the Primera C, of the Argentine league system. History Desamparados was founded in 1919 by a group of students from the Quinta Agronómica (Agricultural College), which is now the ''Escuela de Enología'' (Winemaking School). Club Atlético Douglas Haig is an Argentine football club from Pergamino, Buenos Aires Province, which plays in Torneo Federal A, the third division of football in Argentina. The club is named after Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig, a victorious British general from World War I. Club Mutual Crucero del Norte (simply known as Crucero del Norte) is an Argentine sports club based in Garupá, Misiones Province. The club was founded in 2003 by a long-distance bus company which gave its name to the institution.
