2021 Hammarby Fotboll Season
The 2021 season was Hammarby Fotboll, Hammarby Fotboll's 106th in existence, their 52nd season in Allsvenskan and their 7th consecutive season in the league. They competed in 2021 Allsvenskan, Allsvenskan, 2020–21 Svenska Cupen, Svenska Cupen and UEFA Europa Conference League, Conference League during the year. League play started in April, initially behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden, coronavirus pandemic. Hammarby Fotboll, more commonly known as Hammarby IF or simply Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a Swedish professional association football, football club from Stockholm founded in 1915. The club is based at 3Arena (Stockholm), 3 Arena in Johanneshov but founded in the neighbouring Södermalm district of Stockholm City Centre, an area that is considered the club's heartland. Aljoša Matko (born 29 March 2000) is a Slovenian footballer who plays as a forward for Nemzeti Bajnokság I club Újpest and the Slovenia national team. Early life Matko was born in Novo Mesto and grew up in Črnomelj. He began his career at the age of four with local club Bela Krajina, where he stayed for eight years. Richard Göran Emil Magyar (; born 3 May 1991) is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Trond Dennis Widgren (born 28 March 1994) is a Swedish footballer who plays as a left back for IK Sirius in Allsvenskan. David Ousted Hansen (born 1 February 1985) is a Danish retired professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper.
