2021 Alpine Skiing World Cup – Men's Slalom
The men's slalom in the 2021 FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup involved 11 events including the final, exactly as scheduled without any cancellations. Austrian skier Marco Schwarz jumped out to a huge lead in the standings; after winning the night slalom in Schlamding. Austria, Schwarz had over a 200-point lead on the field. From there, Schwarz just needed to stay healthy to record an easy victory, and he clinched the discipline title for 2021 (and the crystal globe that goes with it) after the tenth event. The finals were held on 21 March 2021 in Lenzerheide, Switzerland; only the top 25 in the discipline ranking, the winner of the Junior World Championship, and athletes who have scored at least 500 points in the overall classification were eligible to participate, and only the top 15 scored points. Sebastian Foss-Solevåg
Sebastian Foss-Solevåg (born 13 July 1991) is a Norwegian former World Cup alpine ski racer who specialised in slalom. He is world champion, Olympic bronze medalist and three times national champion in slalom. Career Born in Ålesund, he competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, in slalom where he placed ninth. Foss-Solevåg's first World Cup podium came in January 2015 at Zagreb, Croatia, and his first win came six years later at Flachau, Austria. He won the gold medal in the slalom at the World Championships in 2021, and won another in the team event. Clément Noël (born 3 May 1997) is a French World Cup alpine ski racer and specialises in the slalom discipline. He competed in the 2018 Winter Olympics, placing fourth in the slalom, then became the gold medalist in slalom at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Planai is a ski area in central Austria, the main mountain in the Schladming area in Styria. Flachau is a village in the district of St. Johann im Pongau in the Austrian state of Salzburg, with a population of 2,802 (2016 data).
