2020–21 St Johnstone F.C. Season
The 2020–21 St Johnstone F.C. season was the club's eighth season in the Scottish Premiership and their eleventh consecutive season in the top flight of Scottish football. St Johnstone also competed in the Scottish Cup and the League Cup, winning both competitions. St Johnstone became only the fourth Scottish team, and only the second outwith the Old Firm, to win a Scottish cup double. Season summary After the resignation of Tommy Wright, Alec Cleland took over as interim manager. After sixteen years at the club Steven Anderson left before the season began along with Danny Swanson, Ross Callachan and David McMillan. Former player and assistant manager Callum Davidson was appointed manager. Former striker Steven MacLean retired to become a coach alongside Cleland who returns to his former role. Steven MacLean (footballer)
Steven George MacLean (born 23 August 1982) is a Scottish professional football coach and former player who was most recently the interim head coach of Scottish Championship club Queen's Park. MacLean played as a forward for Rangers, Scunthorpe United, Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, Aberdeen, Oxford United, Yeovil Town, Cheltenham Town, St Johnstone, Heart of Midlothian and Raith Rovers. He also represented the Scotland national under-21 football team. MacLean retired from playing in 2020 and became a coach with St Johnstone. He was their manager for six months during 2023. St Mirren Park
St Mirren Park, also known as The SMISA Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium in Paisley, Scotland. It is the home of St Mirren F.C.. The stadium is the sixth home of the club and replaced Love Street. History Talks over a new stadium began on 15 January 2003, when the club met representatives from Aldi and Lidl. The club were looking to sell their ground at Love Street for retail development. Selling Love Street would secure the necessary funding to build the new stadium. Planning applications for a retail development at Love Street were passed on 24 May 2005 and the club subsequently sold the ground to Tesco on 25 April 2007 for £15 million. Scott Tanser
Scott Tanser (born 23 October 1994) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club St Mirren. Tanser made his senior debut for Rochdale in April 2013 and made a total of 57 league and cup appearances for the club before he was allowed to leave for Port Vale in January 2017. He joined Scottish Premiership club St Johnstone five months later. He won the Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup with St Johnstone in the 2020–21 season. He joined St Mirren in June 2021. Bruce Anderson (born 23 September 1998) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Kilmarnock. He has previously played for Aberdeen, where he came through the ranks from the age of 11, Elgin City, Dunfermline Athletic, Ayr United, Hamilton Academical and Livingston. Career Aberdeen Anderson began his footballing career with Dyce Boys Club when he was five, before signing with Aberdeen youth teams when he was 13.
