2020–21 Scarlets Season
The 2020–21 season is the 17th season in the history of the Scarlets, a Welsh regional rugby union side based in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. In this season, they competed in the Pro14 and the Champions Cup. In December 2020, it was announced that the 2020–21 Pro14 season would conclude on 27 March 2021 after 16 rounds, and will be followed by the Pro14 Rainbow Cup, a competition featuring the four former South African Super Rugby sides, the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers. The Rainbow Cup would consist of two dual tournaments; one for the northern hemisphere teams and one for the four South African teams. The winners of both tournaments would face off in a final to crown the overall winner. In April 2021, Dwayne Peel was announced as the head coach for the 2021–22 season, with Glenn Delaney moving to a Director of Rugby role. Glenn Delaney
Glenn Delaney (born 16 November 1973) is a New Zealand professional rugby union football coach. He was recently the head coach of the Pro14 side Scarlets. Lions (Super Rugby)
The Lions (known as the Emirates Lions for sponsorship reasons) is a South African professional rugby union team based in Johannesburg in the Gauteng province. They competed in the Super Rugby competition until 2020, and have competed in the United Rugby Championship since 2021. They are the successor of the teams known as Transvaal (1996 Super 12 season, 1996), Gauteng Lions (1997 Super 12 season, 1997) and the Cats (1998 Super 12 season, 1998–2006 Super 14 season, 2006). They had varied results in Super Rugby, finishing at the bottom of the table six times (in 1998, 2003, 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012), but reaching the semifinal stage five times (in 2000, 2001, 2016, 2017 and 2018). Angus O'Brien
Angus O'Brien (born 17 September 1994) is a Welsh rugby union player who plays Dragons RFC. He can play as outside half and fullback. O'Brien is a Wales under-20 international. Angus O’Brien played club rugby for Caerleon RFC at Junior level before beginning his Senior career. O'Brien made his debut for the Dragons regional team on 12 September 2014 aged 19 versus the Ospreys, kicking 4 penalties in a 15–17 defeat. Tom Prydie
Tom Prydie (born 23 February 1992) is a Welsh rugby union player. A fullback who can also play on the wing, Prydie is the youngest player ever to represent the Wales national team and the youngest player in the history of Europe's top rugby union club competition, the Heineken Cup. Early life Born in Porthcawl, a seaside resort near Bridgend, Prydie primarily played football in his early childhood. He represented his primary school, Nottage, at under 11s rugby, within the Bridgend and District Schools' RU. Uzair Cassiem
Uzair Cassiem (born 17 March 1990) is a South African rugby union player for French side Bayonne. Cassiem, who usually plays as a loose forward, previously represented the Golden Lions and Falcons. In 2013, he was included in a South Africa President's XV team that played in the 2013 IRB Tbilisi Cup and won the tournament after winning all three matches. Cassiem finished joint top try scorer with two tries. He was a member of the Pumas side that won the Vodacom Cup for the first time in 2015, beating Western Province 24–7 in the final. Cassiem appeared in all ten of their matches during the season. Despite initially signing a contract to join Kimberley-based side Griquas prior to the 2016 season, he was included in the training squad of Super Rugby side the Cheetahs and it was later confirmed that he would remain with them for the entire 2016 season.
