2020–21 National Independent Soccer Association Season
The 2020–21 NISA season was the second season of the National Independent Soccer Association's third-division soccer competition. The regular season was split into two halves, Fall and Spring, with playoffs at the end of each, and a Championship Match that had the Fall champion host the Spring champion. This season also saw the introduction of a new cup competition, the #NISA Independent Cup, NISA Independent Cup, that features independent clubs from various professional and semi-professional leagues across the United States. Teams The eight teams that participated in the inaugural 2019-20 NISA season were joined by three expansion teams: New York Cosmos (2010), New York Cosmos and New Amsterdam FC for the full season. New York Cosmos (2010)
The New York Cosmos is an American professional soccer club based in Uniondale, New York, that most recently played in the third-tier league National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). The organization, established in August 2010, is a rebirth of the original New York Cosmos (1970–1985) that played in the previous North American Soccer League, which was at the time the first division of North American soccer. The club previously competed in the second-division North American Soccer League (NASL). With the NASL, the team won the Soccer Bowl Trophy in 2013, 2015, and 2016. Keyworth Stadium
Keyworth Stadium is a 7,933 seat multi-purpose stadium located in Hamtramck, Michigan, an enclave of Detroit. It was opened by former president Franklin Delano Roosevelt on October 15, 1936, during his second campaign for president.
