2020–21 Luge World Cup
The 2020–21 Luge World Cup was a multi race tournament over a season for Luge, organised by the International Luge Federation, FIL. The season started 28 November 2020 in Olympic Sliding Centre Innsbruck, Innsbruck, Austria, and concluded on 6 February 2021 in St. Moritz-Celerina Olympic Bobrun, St. Moritz, Switzerland. Felix Loch
Felix Loch (; born 24 July 1989) is a German luger and Olympic champion. He has been competing since 1995 and on the German national team since 2006. He has won fourteen medals at the FIL World Luge Championships, including twelve golds (Men's singles: FIL World Luge Championships 2008, 2008, FIL World Luge Championships 2009, 2009, FIL World Luge Championships 2012, 2012, FIL World Luge Championships 2013, 2013, 2015 FIL World Luge Championships, 2015, 2016 FIL World Luge Championships, 2016; Men's sprint 2016 FIL World Luge Championships, 2016: Mixed team event: 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016) and two silvers (Men's singles: FIL World Luge Championships 2011, 2011, 2015 FIL World Luge Championships, 2015). Königssee Bobsleigh, Luge, And Skeleton Track
The Königssee bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track is a venue in Germany for bobsleigh, luge and skeleton (sport), skeleton, located in Schönau am Königssee, Bavaria, near Königssee (German for "King's Lake") and the border with Austria. Completed in 1968, it is the first permanent, artificially refrigeration, refrigerated bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track in the world. Dajana Eitberger
Dajana Eitberger (born 7 January 1991) is a German luger. She currently represents Germany in the women's doubles event in the Luge World Cup. Career During the 2014–15 Luge World Cup season she was victorious in one event which was the final race of the season in Sochi. During that season she came in second twice and third four time and finished second in the overall standing behind her teammate, Natalie Geisenberger. The event in Sochi and doubled as the European championship and as such she is the current European champion. During the 2015–16 Luge World Cup Eitberger was on the winners platform on the podium once (at the season opener in Igls), was second twice and third three times. She once again finished the season sixth in the standings. Eitberger won the silver medal at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, again behind Natalie Geisenberger. Roman Alexandrovich Repilov (; born 5 March 1996) is a Russian luger. Competitive career Representing Russia at the 2015–16 Luge World Cup, Repilov placed second in the sprint event in Calgary with a time of 30.279. On 2 December 2016, he came in fifth in the Lake Placid event of the Men's Singles 2016-17 Luge World Cup, but set a new Lake Placid track start record of 6.359 seconds. Later in the same season, he triumphed in the men's singles event at Park City, Utah, came in second twice, in Winterberg, Germany and Sigulda, Latvia and won two men's singles sprint events in Park City and Sigulda. Nico Gleirscher (born 17 March 1997) is an Austrian luger. Career He started competing for the Austria national team in the various youth categories, finishing second overall in the Youth World Cup in 2013/14 and third in the Junior World Cup in 2014/15. He also won four medals at the , including a silver in singles in Sigulda 2017 and three bronze medals (singles in Lillehammer 2015, team event in Winterberg 2016 and in Sigulda 2017). Kristers Aparjods (born 24 February 1998) is a Latvian luger. He started competing in luge in 2006. Career He took the gold medal in the singles event in the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, where he was also selected as the flag bearer for the Latvians in the opening ceremony. Max Langenhan (born 21 February 1999) is a German luger who competes for the BRC 05 Friedrichroda club and German national team. He represented his country at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Youth and Junior career Max Langenhan was successful at national level at early years of his career and made his international debut in January 2015 in the Youth A World Cup. In his debut race in Oberhof, he took second place just behind his compatriot German luger Lucas Geyer. In the next two races of the season, he secured third and second place in Igls and Winterberg, respectively. In just three races he finished seventh overall. In that season, he finished seventh overall after only three races. In 2015/16 season, Langenhan advanced to the Junior World Cup. David Gleirscher (born 23 July 1994) is an Austrian luger. He competed for Austria in the 2015–16 Luge World Cup in the men's singles and finished tenth in the points standings. In men's luge at the 2018 Winter Olympics he became a surprise champion after the favorite, Felix Loch, made a mistake in the last run and dropped out of the medals. Before the Olympic win, Gleirscher did not have a single World Cup podium appearance. Family David Gleirscher's father, Gerhard, is a retired luger who won three world championship medals, including both gold in the team event and a bronze in the men's single event in 1997. Dominik Fischnaller (born 20 February 1993) is an Italian luger who has competed since 2002. He has won silver and two bronze medals at Junior World Championships.
