2019–20 Wellington Phoenix FC Season
The 2019–20 season is Wellington Phoenix's 13th season since its establishment in 2007. The club is participating in the A-League for the 13th time, the FFA Cup for the sixth time. On 24 March 2020, the FFA announced that the 2019–20 A-League season would be postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and New Zealand, and subsequently extended indefinitely. The season resumed on 17 July 2020. Review Pre-season On 15 April, it was announced that Rudan would not see out the second year of his contract and would leave at season's end for personal reasons. On 4 May 2019, it was announced Ufuk Talay would be taking the reins of head coach after the departure of Mark Rudan on a one-year deal. Wellington Phoenix Football Club is a professional association football, football club based in Wellington, New Zealand. It competes in the Australian A-League Men, under Professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from Football Federation Australia. Phoenix entered the competition in the 2007–08 A-League, 2007–08 season after its formation in March 2007, by New Zealand Football to replace New Zealand Knights FC, New Zealand Knights as a New Zealand-based club in the Australian A-League competition. Stefan Marinovic
Stefan Tone Marinovic (, ) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for German Bayernliga club TSV Grünwald. Club career Born in New Zealand to Croatian parents,Marinovic attended Auckland private school, Kings College. In 2005, he won the New Zealand Nike Cup. In 2008, Marinovic was selected for the New Zealand under-19 schoolboys national team for its tour of Austria. He received trials from clubs such as Everton FC, FC Zürich and FC Schalke 04, but they all failed, and so he joined Waitakere United. He reached the national final with United, but they lost 6–0 to Canterbury. The New Zealand men's national football team () represents New Zealand in men's international football competitions. FC Bayern Munich II
FC Bayern Munich II (''FC Bayern Munich Amateure'' until 2005) are the reserve team of German association football club Bayern Munich, currently playing in the Regionalliga Bayern. In 2010–11, they played in the 3. Liga, having qualified for its inaugural season in 2008, and have consistently played at the third level of German football (the highest permissible level for reserve teams) – they played in the Regionalliga Süd from its formation in 1994 to 2008, when it was usurped by the 3. Sarpreet Singh (born 20 February 1999) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Liga Portugal 2 team União de Leiria and the New Zealand national team. Born in New Zealand to Indian parents, Singh played for Onehunga Sports in his youth before joining the Wellington Phoenix Academy in 2015, then making his competitive senior debut for the Wellington Phoenix in 2015. He spent four seasons with the club, becoming a regular starter and earning his first international call up for New Zealand in 2018 to play at the Intercontinental Cup, where he scored his first international goal. Tom Doyle
Thomas Joseph Doyle (born 30 June 1992) is a New Zealand international footballer who plays as a left back for Bay Olympic in the Northern League. Doyle made his senior professional debut for Wellington Phoenix FC in the 2014 FFA Cup against Adelaide United at the Marden Sports Complex on 5 August 2014. Adelaide won the match 1–0 in regulation time. During his time with Wellington, he also operated as centre back. David Joel Williams (born 26 February 1988) is an Australian professional football player who plays as a forward for Perth Glory. Williams is the first Indigenous Australian player to play for A-League club Melbourne City. He also represented Australia's national team twice.
