2019–20 Vancouver Canucks Season
The 2019–20 Vancouver Canucks season was the List of Vancouver Canucks seasons, 50th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on May 22, 1970. The Canucks attempted to return to the postseason for the first time since the 2014–15 NHL season, 2014–15 season. The season was suspended by the league officials on March 12, 2020, after several other professional and collegiate sports organizations followed suit as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On May 26, the NHL regular season was officially declared over with the remaining games being cancelled. Pacific Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Pacific Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. It is also one of the two successors of the Smythe Division (the other one was the Northwest Division), though of the current teams, only the Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights did not play in the Smythe Division. Due to subsequent realignments, three of the Pacific Division's original teams (the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks) left the division in 1998 but returned in 2013. The 2010–11 Vancouver Canucks season was the 41st season in the modern Canucks history.
