2019–20 Pro Basketball League
The 2019–20 Pro Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons the EuroMillions Basketball League, season was the 93rd season of the Pro Basketball League (PBL), first tier of basketball in Belgium. The season started on 13 September 2019 and was stopped abruptly in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 13 March 2020, the Belgian Basketball Association decided, in agreement with all participating clubs, to end the season rather than assume the postponed matches could still be played, taking the current standings as final. As such, B.C. Oostende, Oostende won their 21st title. Format For the regular season, teams will be divided into two five-team groups according to their positions in the previous season. The Pro Basketball League (PBL), was the highest tier level professional basketball league in Belgium for sports clubs, clubs. In 2021, the league was succeeded by the Belgian-Dutch BNXT League. Limburg United, for sponsorship reasons named Hubo Limburg United, is a professional basketball club based in Hasselt, Limburg, Belgium. Founded in 2014, the club plays in the BNXT League, the first tier of basketball in Belgium. The team plays its home games in Sporthal Alverberg. Limburg has won one trophy, the Belgian Cup in 2022. The name expressing the founders' motivation for there to be a top tier basketball team from Limburg province in the aftermath of Bree B.B.C. relegating from BLB Division I in 2008 and eventually disbanding. Dôme (Charleroi)
The DÔME is an indoor arena that is located in Charleroi, Belgium. It currently can seat 6,300 spectators (5,440 fan seats, 160 lodge seats, 700 business seats). It is mainly used to host indoor sporting events such as tennis and basketball and concerts. However, since they switch the name to DÔME in March 2019, the Arena is also used for a wide range of activities such as conferences, seminaire, enterprise dinner and much more. History Originally designed as an indoor tennis court for a Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy; the hall became too small, especially for the requirements of the Spirou Charleroi basketball team and for this reason the arena was expanded in 2002. Ostend
