The 2019–20 season was Newcastle Jets FC, Newcastle Jets' 19th season since its establishment in 2000. The club participated in the A-League for the 15th time and FFA Cup for the sixth time. On 24 March 2020, the Football Federation Australia, FFA announced that the 2019–20 A-League season would be postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand, New Zealand, and subsequently extended indefinitely. Newcastle United Jets Football Club, commonly known as Newcastle Jets, is an Australian professional Association football, soccer club based in Newcastle, New South Wales. It competes in the country's premier competition, the A-League, under Professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) (formerly under licence from Football Australia). The club was formed in 2000 when it joined the National Soccer League (NSL) and was one of only three former NSL clubs to join in the formation of the A-League.
