2019–20 Macedonian First League
The 2019–20 Macedonian First League is the 28th season of the Macedonian First League, with 10 teams participating in it. MZT Skopje Aerodrom are the defending champions. On 12 March 2020, the competition was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic in North Macedonia. Competition format Ten teams that compose the league will play a double-legged round robin tournament. Teams The second team of MZT Skopje ( MZT Skopje Uni Banka) and Akademija FMP were promoted. Two clubs from Gevgelia, Blokotehna and Kožuv, merged into one club, while Shkupi was relegated. On September 30, AV Ohrid was dissolved, so the beginning of this season was delayed to October, 12. The 2018–19 Macedonian First League was the 27th season of the Macedonian First League (basketball), Macedonian First League, with 11 teams participating. KK Rabotnički, Rabotnički were the defending champions. Competition format The eleven teams that compose the league played a double-legged round robin tournament. The two last qualified teams will join the relegation playoffs with the two best teams from the Second League. Teams Eleven teams joined the league as KK Vodnjanska, Vodnjanska was not admitted in the league. KK Vardar, Vardar replaced KK Karpoš Sokoli, Karpoš Sokoli and KK Strumica, Strumica, relegated from the previous season. KK Kožuv
KK Kožuv () is a basketball club based in Gevgelija, North Macedonia. They currently play in the Macedonian First League. History The club was founded in 1955. Kozhuv's biggest success came in 2013, they made the Macedonian First League playoff final but ended up losing against MZT Skopje Aerodrom. Kozhuv reached the Macedonian Cup Final in 2015. They lost the final match against the heavy-weight Rabotnichki 66-74 .Kozhuv also competed in BIBL league for 6 seasons. They reached the 3rd place twice in seasons 2015 and 2016. Since its second top-flight season in 2012, the team from the border town has also participated in the supranational Balkan League, a position it has consistently held ever since. Sports Hall Kumanovo () is an indoor sports venue located in Kumanovo, North Macedonia. The hall has a capacity of 6,500 seats and was built in 1980. Aleksandar Jončevski (born 9 January 1981) is a Macedonian professional basketball coach. He was most recently the head coach for Śląsk Wrocław of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). Coaching career He started his coaching career in 2010 in KFUM Uppsala U18 in Sweden. After being one year ass.coach in Rabotnicki, he became assistant head coach in MZT Skopje from 2012 to 2015, competing in Adriatic League, ULEB Eurocup and the national Championship.
