2019–20 Eredivisie (women)
The 2019–20 Eredivisie Vrouwen is the tenth season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The season was intended to last from 23 August 2019 to 22 May 2020, but was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Twente began the season as defending champion, and no new champion was crowned. Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic On 12 March 2020, all football leagues were suspended until 31 March, as the Dutch government forbade events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 15 March, the suspension was extended until 6 April. On 23 March, the Dutch government forbid all gatherings and events until 1 June 2020. The Dutch government announced on 21 April that all events, subject to authorization, would remain forbidden until 1 September. The KNVB announced the same day its intention not to continue all remaining suspended competitions. 2019–20 Eredivisie
The 2019–20 Eredivisie was the 64th season of the Dutch football league Eredivisie since its establishment in 1955. The season began on 2 August 2019 and was suspended on 12 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands. The season was abandoned on 24 April. Ajax were the defending champion. Twente, RKC Waalwijk, and Sparta Rotterdam joined as the promoted clubs from the 2018–19 Eerste Divisie. They replaced NAC Breda, Excelsior, and De Graafschap who were relegated to the 2019–20 Eerste Divisie. SC Heerenveen (women)
SC Heerenveen Vrouwen is a Dutch women's football (soccer) club based in Heerenveen that competes in the Vrouwen Eredivisie, the top women's league in the Netherlands. Several of the top Dutch women footballers, including Lieke Martens, Vivianne Miedema, and Sherida Spitse, have played for the club. The club peaked in the league table with a third place finish in the 2017–18 season. History SC Heerenveen was a founding member of the Vrouwen Eredivisie in 2007 and one of three clubs, along with FC Twente and ADO Den Haag, to field a team in the Eredivisie or BeNe League in every season. Heerhugowaard
Heerhugowaard (; West Frisian Dutch: ''Heerhugoweard'', ''Heregeweard'' or ''De Weard'') is a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West Friesland. Heerhugowaard was previously a separate municipality, which merged with the former municipality of Langedijk into the new municipality of Dijk en Waard on 1 January 2022. Sportpark Nieuw Hanenburg is a cricket ground in The Hague, the Netherlands. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1966 when the Netherlands played Oxford University. Over the next three decades it hosted a number of touring teams, as well as the 1998 European Cricket Championships.
