2019–20 Central Coast Mariners FC Season
The 2019–20 season was the Central Coast Mariners's 15th season since its establishment in 2004. During the pre-season, Alen Stajcic signed a 3-year contract as the new coach. On 24 March 2020, the FFA announced that the 2019–20 A-League season would be postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and New Zealand, and subsequently extended indefinitely. The season resumed on 17 July 2020. Central Coast Mariners FC
Central Coast Mariners Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Gosford, on the Central Coast (New South Wales), Central Coast of New South Wales. It competes in the A-League, A-League Men, under Professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from the Australian Professional Leagues (APL). The Mariners were founded in 2004 and are one of the eight original A-League teams. It is the first professional sports club from the Gosford region to compete in a national competition. Matt Simon (soccer)
Matthew Blake Simon (born 22 January 1986) is a retired Australian international football (soccer) player who played as a striker. Simon attended St Edward's College, East Gosford, where he was influenced to play soccer. Simon started his senior career with Central Coast Lightning before joining Central Coast Mariners in 2006. In 2012, Simon signed with K-League club Chunnam Dragons, however, his opportunities at the club were limited by persistent injuries. In 2013, Simon rejoined the Mariners. He moved to Sydney FC after being released by the Mariners in 2015, before again returning to the Mariners in 2018. Gianni Ryan Stensness (born 7 February 1999) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a centre-back for Norwegian Eliteserien club Viking FK. A former youth international for New Zealand, Stensness plays for the Australia national team. Samuel Silvera (born 25 October 2000) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a winger for club Middlesbrough. Kye Francis Rowles (born 24 June 1998) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a central defender for Major League Soccer club D.C. United. Adam Pearce (born 8 January 1997) is an Australian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Newcastle Olympic. Early life Pearce was raised in Forster, New South Wales, before moving to Newcastle, aged fifteen. In Newcastle, he attended Hunter Sports High School. Thomas Michael Oar (born 10 December 1991) is a retired Australian professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Oar played youth football for Burleigh Heads, Palm Beach and at the Queensland Academy of Sport before making his professional debut for Brisbane Roar in 2008. Michael McGlinchey
Michael Ryan McGlinchey (born 7 January 1987) is a New Zealand former footballer who played as a midfielder. McGlinchey played youth football with Scottish club Celtic, where he made his professional debut. After spending time on loan to Dunfermline Athletic, he joined Central Coast Mariners in the A-League, where he made over 100 appearances. In his time at the club he spent periods on loan at Motherwell in 2010 and with Vegalta Sendai in 2014. He joined Wellington Phoenix in 2014 after securing a release from the Mariners.
