2019–20 Benevento Calcio Season
The 2019–20 season was the second consecutive season of Benevento in the second division of Italian football after relegation from Serie A in 2018. Along with competing in the league, the club also participated in the Coppa Italia. On 29 June 2020, Benevento secured promotion to the Serie A with seven matches to spare. At the time, Benevento had won 23 of their 31 league games and lost just once, and had a 24-point advantage over nearest rivals Crotone and Cittadella. Ascoli were the last club to be promoted with seven games remaining, and they did so in 1977–78 when only two points were awarded for a victory. Benevento Calcio, commonly referred to as Benevento, is an Italian professional football club based in Benevento, Campania. The club was originally founded in 1929 and then re-founded in 2005. They currently compete in Serie C, having been relegated from Serie B in the 2022–23 season. History Early history The club was founded as Associazione Calcio Benevento in 1929, their original home was the ''Meomartini'' which was built by Ciccio Minocchia. Gaetano Letizia
Gaetano Letizia (born 29 June 1990) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for club Pescara. Riccardo Improta
Riccardo Improta (born 19 December 1993) is an Italian professional footballer who plays for club Latina as a forward. His elder brothers Umberto and Giancarlo Improta are also professional footballers. Massimo Volta (born 14 May 1987) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Eccellenza amateurs Carpenedolo. Alessandro Tuia
Alessandro Tuia (born 8 June 1990) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Croatian club Osijek. Club career Tuia is a product of the Lazio youth academy and former captain of the '' Primavera'' youth team, being invited to train with the senior side in the 2008-09 season.
