2019–20 Adelaide United FC Season
The 2019–20 Adelaide United FC season was the club's 16th season since its establishment in 2003. The club participated in the A-League for the 15th time and participated in the FFA Cup for 6th time, winning the 2019 FFA Cup tournament. On 24 March 2020, the FFA announced that the 2019–20 A-League season would be postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and New Zealand, and subsequently extended indefinitely. The season resumed on 17 July 2020. Review Pre-season Before the 2019 A-League Grand Final, Adelaide United confirmed Apostolos Stamatelopoulos had left the club and joined new A-League club, Western United on 20 March. Adelaide United Football Club is a professional men's Association football, soccer club located in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. The club was one of the eight founding members of the A-League Men and have competed in it concurrently since its formation, under North American professional sports league organization#Systems around the world, licence from the Australian Professional Leagues. Established in 2003, the club was formed to replace Adelaide City and West Adelaide SC, West Adelaide in the final season of the National Soccer League, and has remained the only professional club from South Australia. 2019 A-League Grand Final
The 2019 A-League Grand Final was the fourteenth A-League Grand Final, the championship-deciding match of the A-League in Australia and the culmination of the 2018–19 A-League, 2018–19 season. It was played on the 19 May 2019 at Perth Stadium, Optus Stadium in Perth between Perth Glory FC, Perth Glory and Sydney FC, who finished the regular season first and second respectively. This was the first A-League grand final hosted in Perth and it is the highest attended grand final in A-League history. Lachlan Brook
Lachlan Ricky Brook (born 8 February 2001) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Major League Soccer club Real Salt Lake. Brook is a product of the Adelaide United youth system and made his professional debut for the club in 2017. He transferred to English club Brentford in 2020 and gained competitive experience of English football on loan with Crewe Alexandra during the 2022–23 season. Vince Lia
Vince Lia (born 18 March 1985) is an Australian professional football (soccer) player who plays for Essendon Royals in the National Premier Leagues Victoria 3. Born in Shepparton, Lia played youth football in Victoria before making his senior debut with South Melbourne in the National Soccer League. Scott Robert Galloway (born 25 April 1995) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a fullback. Galloway is currently a free agent, having most recently played for A-League club Auckland FC. Papa Babacar "Baba" Diawara (born 5 January 1988) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a striker. ''The World Game'' was an Australian football (soccer) television show broadcast on the SBS network, as well as a dedicated associated website.
