The 2019 Úrvalsdeild kvenna was the 48th season of the women's football top level league in Iceland. Breiðablik is the defending champion. Teams The 2019 Úrvalsdeild kvenna is contested by ten teams, eight of which played in the division the previous year and two teams promoted from 1. deild kvenna. The bottom two teams from the previous season, Grindavík and FH, were relegated to the 1. deild kvenna and were replaced by Keflavík and Fylkir, champions and runners-up of the 2018 1. deild kvenna respectively. Garðabær () is a town and municipality in the Capital Region of Iceland. History Garðabær is a growing town in the Capital Region. It is the fifth largest municipality in Iceland with a population of 20,116 (1 January 2025). The site of Garðabær has been inhabited since Iceland was first settled in the 9th century. The Stjarnan women's football team is the women's football department of the Ungmennafélagið Stjarnan multi-sport club. It is based in Garðabær, Iceland, and currently plays in the Besta deild kvenna, the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. Selfoss () is a town in southern Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. It is the seat of the municipality of Árborg. Meistaravellir () or KR-völlur ( or more precisely 'KR Stadium') is a football stadium in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is currently used mostly for football matches and has been the home stadium of Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur since 1984. The stadium holds about 2,700 people and is located at Kaplaskjólsvegur in West Reykjavík. History KR-völlur was first established as a football ground in 1951 as a part time ground. KR played the majority of their matches at Laugardalsvöllur. In 1984, they moved to play their matches at KR-völlur full-time. Vestmannaeyjar (, sometimes anglicized as Westman Islands) is a municipality and archipelago off the south coast of Iceland.
