2019 Miami Open
The 2019 Miami Open (sponsored by Itaú) was a professional men and women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts that started on March 18, 2019, and ended on March 31, 2019. It was the 35th edition of the Miami Open, and part of the Masters 1000 category on the 2019 ATP Tour, and of the Premier Mandatory category on the 2019 WTA Tour. This was the first time the tournament took place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States. ATP Tour Masters 1000
The ATP 1000 events, also known as ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, are an annual series of nine tennis tournaments featuring the top-ranked players on the ATP Tour since its inception in 1990. The ATP 1000 tournaments, sitting below the Grand Slam (tennis)#Tournaments, Grand Slam tournaments and the ATP Finals, year-end championships, make up the most coveted trophies on the annual ATP Tour calendar. 2019 WTA Tour
The 2019 WTA Tour was the elite professional tennis circuit organised by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for the 2019 tennis season. The 2019 WTA Tour calendar was composed of the Grand Slam tournaments (supervised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the WTA Premier tournaments (Premier Mandatory, Premier 5, and regular Premier), the WTA International tournaments, the Fed Cup (organized by the ITF), and the year-end championships (the WTA Tour Championships and the WTA Elite Trophy). The Hopman Cup, organized by the ITF, also is included but did not distribute ranking points. Prior to the season, the WTA announced usage of a shot clock at all Premier events. Players had have a minute to get on court, five minutes to warm up, and one minute to start the match. The time allotted to players in between points has been increased from 20 to 25 seconds. Hubert Hurkacz (; born 11 February 1997) is a Polish professional tennis player. He has been ATP rankings, ranked as high as world No. 6 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals, ATP, making him the highest-ranked Polish man in singles history. David Ferrer
David Ferrer Ern (; ; born 2 April 1982) is a Spanish former professional tennis player. He was ranked world No. 3 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in July 2013. 2018 Miami Open – Men's Singles
John Isner defeated Alexander Zverev in the final, 6–7(4–7), 6–4, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2018 Miami Open. It was Isner's first and only Masters 1000 title, and he became the first new Miami Open champion in nine years. Roger Federer was the defending champion, but lost in the second round to Thanasi Kokkinakis. Federer and Rafael Nadal (despite having withdrawn from the event) were in contention for the ATP No. 1 singles ranking. Nadal regained the top ranking as a result of Federer's second-round loss.
