Polona Hercog defeated Iga Świątek in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2019 Ladies Lugano Open. It was Świątek's first WTA Tour final. Elise Mertens was the reigning champion, but did not participate. Mandy Minella (born 22 November 1985) is a Luxembourgish politician and former professional tennis player. Having made her debut on the WTA Tour in 2001, she peaked at No. 66 in the WTA singles rankings in September 2012, and No. 47 in doubles in April 2013.
