2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup
The 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup (Greek: Παγκόσμιο Κύπελλο Μπάσκετ FIBA Under-19 2019) was the 14th edition of the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup, the biennial international men's youth basketball championship contested by the U19 national teams of the member associations of FIBA. It was hosted by Heraklion, Greece, from 29 June to 7 July 2019. The United States won their seventh title, after defeating Mali 93–79 in the final. The 2018 FIBA Under-18 Americas Championship was an international under-18 basketball tournament that was held from 10 to 16 June 2018 in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. The eleventh edition of the biennial competition, this is also the qualifying tournament for FIBA Americas in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Greece. Rokas Jokubaitis (born 19 November 2000) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player for Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League and the EuroLeague. Early life and youth career Jokubaitis was born in Mažeikiai, Lithuania. Amar Sylla (born 1 October 2001) is a Senegalese professional basketball player who plays for Bilbao Basket of the Liga ACB. He also plays for the Senegalese national under-18 team. Early life and career Sylla was born in Dakar, Senegal. Growing up, he preferred football but began playing basketball at the SEED Academy in Thiès because of his height.
