The 2018–19 Montreal Canadiens season was the 110th season for the franchise that was founded on December 4, 1909, and their 102nd in the National Hockey League. Despite a strong effort, the Canadiens failed to qualify for the playoffs, marking the first time that the team missed back-to-back postseasons since the 2000–01 season. The Atlantic Division is a name used by the National Hockey League to describe a division of teams in the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. The original Atlantic Division, the predecessor of which was the Patrick Division, was formed in 1993 as part of the Eastern Conference in a league realignment. As part of a 2013 realignment, the entirety of the former Atlantic Division was realigned into the Metropolitan Division. 2014–15 Boston Bruins Season
The 2014–15 Boston Bruins season was their 91st season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on November 1, 1924. Despite earning 96 points, the Bruins did not qualify for the 2015 Stanley Cup playoffs, ending their seven-season playoff streak. At the time, this was the most points ever by a team who did not qualify, surpassing the 95 points earned by the 2006–07 Colorado Avalanche and the 2010–11 Dallas Stars. Antti Niemi (; born 29 August 1983) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey goaltender. During the 2009–10 NHL season, 2009–10 season as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, he became the first Finnish goaltender to win the Stanley Cup, and has also played for the San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Pittsburgh Penguins, Florida Panthers, and Montreal Canadiens. Charlie Lindgren (born December 18, 1993) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL). Originally undrafted by teams in the NHL, Lindgren has also previously played for the Montreal Canadiens and St. Louis Blues.
