Piast Gliwice
Gliwicki Klub Sportowy Piast Gliwice () is a Polish professional football club based in Gliwice. In the 2018–19 season, Piast won its first Polish championship. As of 2025–26, it competes in the Ekstraklasa, Poland's top division. History The club was founded in June 1945 by the Poles who had been forced to leave their homes in former eastern Poland annexed by the Soviet Union (present-day Ukraine). The club's name comes from the Piast dynasty, which ruled Poland from its beginnings as an independent state in the 10th century, until 1370, and in the city itself until 1532. In 1949, five local teams were merged with Piast, and the team was renamed to Metal Piast Gliwice, and then to Stal Gliwice, before its original name Piast Gliwice was restored in 1955. Michał Janota (; born 29 July 1990) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a attacking midfielder for IV liga Masovia club Mazovia Mińsk Mazowiecki. Club career Janota was born in Gubin. He joined Feyenoord in 2006 from UKP Zielona Góra. He made his debut for Feyenoord on 23 August 2008, coming on as a substitute against PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Super Cup. Luka Marić (born 25 April 1987) is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Opatija. Club career Born in Pula, in his first professional season for Istra 1961 he collected 19 caps and scored once during the 2011-12 Prva HNL. In mid-2012 he moved to Rijeka. In November 2014 he moved to Zawisza Bydgoszcz. On 5 July 2015 Marić signed a one-year deal with Iranian club Persepolis. Luka Zarandia ( ka, ლუკა ზარანდია; born 17 February 1996) is a Georgian professional footballer who plays as a winger. Early life As a child, Zarandia played tennis. Club career After starting career in hometown club Locomotive Tbilisi, Zarandia moved to Poland in 2017 and joined Arka Gdynia. Michał Kucharczyk (born 20 March 1991) is a Polish professional footballer who plays as a winger or a striker. In 2025, he joined Canal+ as a pundit, becoming a part of their Ekstraklasa coverage team. Club career Kucharczyk was born in Warsaw.
