2018–19 IUPUI Jaguars Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 IUPUI Jaguars men's basketball team represented Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaguars, led by fifth-year head coach Jason Gardner, played their home games at Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis, Indiana as second-year members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 16–17, 8–10 in Horizon League play, to finish in a three-way tie for sixth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Horizon League men's basketball tournament, Horizon League tournament to 2018–19 Wright State Raiders men's basketball team, Wright State. Jason Gardner
Jason Corey Gardner (born November 14, 1980) is an American retired professional basketball player and currently a player relations director at the University of Arizona. Gardner is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, playing his high school ball at North Central High School (Indianapolis), North Central High School. He was honored at Indiana Mr. Basketball in 1999. The point guard then starred at University of Arizona, Arizona from 1999 to 2003. His team finished second place in the 2001 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament, losing to Duke University. As a senior in 2003, Gardner was named an Associated Press Second Team All-American after averaging 14.8 points and 4.9 assists per game. His college jersey number was retired by the University of Arizona in 2005. Gardner was not drafted by the National Basketball Association, NBA, but found success overseas.
